Andrea

My name is Andrea and I am a 42 year old mother of two kids. My life was pretty normal up until May 5, 2021 – as normal as a pandemic world could be.  I was able to keep working from home full time.  I was grateful to keep busy throughout the pandemic. I was initially laid off in March, 2020, so I was fortunate to land another position within the organization.  Things were looking up.  I knew there were many others who were not as fortunate so I didn’t have much to complain about.

In May, 2021 my age category first became eligible for the Covid vaccine.  My husband and I drove out of town to get ours.  There were no appointments available in our hometown and I was eager to get our vaccines, as most people were.  I was concerned about the spread of the virus and wanted to do everything I could to protect myself and my family.  Besides the sore arm, I felt ok for the first little while.  The next day I attended a virtual work conference and I didn’t feel right.  I was lethargic, had no appetite and I was very warm and sweating profusely.  Every time I stood up, I got lightheaded.  I didn’t think much of it, because it was normal to have a reaction my Moderna pamphlet said.
